Here is a YouTube video of what it was like when I was a kid in the 1970s.
The person that made the video pretty much nailed it.
Video is about 10 minutes long. But its worth it

I did all that and more... My birthday is in July so it's a BBQ party almost every time. I never wore a helmet riding a bike and still until know, having sprained my arms and legs so many times being out playing and act like nothing happened, tons of sleep overs , home chords, never wore a belt in the car till i came to Sweden, i have scars because all the time i was out doing dangerous fun things and still do. Now! If some lazy, overprotective parents sees something they hate or don't like they will ruin it for EEEEVVVVVEEEEEERRRRYYYY BODY. Today's kids have no punctuality, not creative, adventures, can watch any show anytime anywhere without a problem, no challenges, spoiled more than they should (there is a lot to explain here but am gonna skip it) and more. I know i am born in the 80's but i was born in Iraq so we were all behind. The streets there are more dangerous than you would imagine, 70% of the drivers never cared for the traffic lights, we never had a sidewalk unless it's in the middle of downtown, playing football barefoot, slingshots, air-soft guns without a permit because we never had to get a permit and many will tell you the accidents percentage is less compared to now which it's not, google it (why google? Because everyone is putting everything there)
Yes please! I’m 19 and I’ve always been fascinated with history despite my grades in school. As a tradeoff I could tell you how it’s like being young and in gen z
Interesting you tried to kill yourselves and others with bikes, knives and giant bow ties🤣.
Naw jk. Thank you for sharing.
I started driving a car on the road at 12 yes old
my grandfather told me things about this which i didn't believe and some are in the video - amazing

As for me an 80’s kid I was & it was a time where you knew everyone’s phone number by heart & dialed it on a landline & if you friend didn’t answer you jumped on your bike a rode to his or her house & knocked on the door.
That video is almost a mirror copy of the 1970s video
In someways our generations were mostly the same & in other ways not the same.
My high school and college years , better than 1970's but not a huge difference , other than Aids and better economy
Always loved riding around in the back of a pick-up, especially in a group. Finally getting Atari 2600 (actually early '80s), somehow thinking Space Invaders was the best game ever, and being pleasantly surprised when the complimentary game that came with the system wasn't Combat (which my friends all had), but Air-Sea Battle instead. Discovering Dungeons & Dragons and becoming enamored with the Monster Manual, reading it cover-to-cover.
I dont remember anyone having a trampoline but I remember stingray bikes and Country Squires. My friends mother had one we had the El-cheapo ford station wagon.
I remember camping out in the backyard. We would roam around the neighborhood all night. I had a friend that had a portable TV and once we ran a long extension cord out our tent and watched TV until it went off the air for the night.
60's here...
My grandfather said similar things to my mother :D
But agreed: compared with today, I fully enjoyed the 70's, too.
As late as the 90s when I was a teenager I knew all my friends addresses and phone numbers, now I just barely know my own.
I was born in 77 so we didn't have bell bottoms and we had slim milk
Did kids become faggots during that time in your life?
