It's not an either-or question. If you lack one, you'll have difficulties in life. It should always be enough of both, some kind of balance depending on your particular life circumstances and needs.
Also, it's not like those two are completely separate things. That's just very simplistic black and white thinking. Especially "street smarts" is a very vague term and could mean all sorts of things. And "book smarts" is way too broad of a term, because one person can be extremely book smart when it comes to history but entirely clueless when it comes to physics, and so on.
These black and white categorizations of human intelligence are not helpful.
That totally depends on who you are in life. If you work at the cern collider in Switzerland , or someplace similar I would think book smarts are necessary, if your life involves less disciplined undertakings , Street smart can be very important
Book smart people at least those with a piece of paper from college might be smart in their field but couldn’t change a light bulb. In contrast to street smarts which is more in tune with everything.
The most important thing is "common sense". This means you have both and know when to use them. People with zero common sense are some of the most ignorant foolish people I have ever met.
I didn't say both weren't important. But between the two, if you plan to earn a living in business, a good education will be more beneficial in the long run if you had to choose only one or the other. Anyone who says otherwise has not spent significant time in the business world.
You can learn anything from a book, including “street knowledge”. But ain’t no book learnin’ ever gonna surpass the value of experience. Ell oh ell!

Book smarts without street smarts maybe only pays off for maybe one out of 10 million people. I am talking about the super nerds like bill gates, Jeff bezos and mark Zuckerberg.

I think that the important part is digging into things to become better at that than usual.
It can be attained both ways. Formal education tend to be more complete, but real experience more updated and motivating.
depends where you are in life.
There is no substitute for common sense. But you need book smarts for some tasks.
book smarts won't save you from bullying, a beatdown or an assault. it might make things worse for you.

Street smarts. Book smarts are good, but if you interact with people then you need street smarts more often

Both have their place.
But there are some people that are book smart but couldn't pour the shit out of their boots with the directions on the heel.

that's like asking what's better a saw or a drill. they both have their uses and each can't do the job of the other.
That depends on whether you plan to earn a living on the streets or in a real job.
Very incorrect. Street smarts can carry over into the business world.
Education helps get you in the door. Street smarts helps you learn how to read people, not get played.
Both are very important

You have to be both
Street smart is obviously better since you are carefree. But book smart can give you an appealing nice boost to have
Street smart in terms of danger
Books smart in terms of wanting to have a good paying career.
Both are important, but I'm going with street smarts.
Depends on the situation. These days, street smart.

Street smarts because you have to be careful of these drivers who can run you down by accident.
street smarts without a doubt and what don't kill you makes you stronger
both are necessary to get through life. street smarts never leads you to anything good
