Is it a good idea to quit a job without having another one lined up?

I know I should find a new job before quitting the one I have but i'm feeling exhausted and lack the motivation to even try looking for something different.

It just depends. Do you have finances to take care of you for a short periods of time till you find a new job or decide to get a new job? It’s always good to at least save 3-6 months of monthly expenses to carry you for a few months if need be. If so then sure take a break. Go somewhere if you can, 2-3 day trip. Unwind. If you can’t afford it then I’d start seeking employment right away.

It can be, if you have the means to support yourself for about twice as long as you expect it will take you to find another job. Do you?

Whatever, but I disagree. I've been rewarded getting in at 10pm at 6am start day. Didn't even mattered if I started snoring...
I don't know where you are from but I have never met a woman who deterred her guy from busting his ass for them as a couple. Just quit and stop with the lame excuses... she'll love that you're on unemployment and Refreshed. lol
