Let me preface this by saying this was at a time my depression was at its worst and I and my mental health was very very bad. I do not pull this shit now:
When I worked at Walmart and Amazon. I hated those jobs but was down on my luck. Sometimes on days I was scheduled to work I would have a "death in the family". Sometimes I even showed up to work and did not feel like being there so I would have a friend pose as my brother and call my boss to say I had a family emergency. I had 3 "deaths" at Walmart and 5 at Amazon.
When it came to bosses (Amazon) trying to make me work overtime or come in on days off, I had a way around that too. I would deliberately sign up for college courses just to show them my schedule to get student accommodations that allowed me to only work my regularly assigned hours. If I needed more money, I had Uber as a back up. I actually made more with Uber, but was in an apartment hunt and apartments do not look favorably on Uber as solo income. Once I gave them that schedule and they called the college to confirm I was signed up for classes, I would immediately withdraw from the classes before the deadline passed. I did this 3 times.
I would have continued doing this, but the 4th attempt caught up with me due to one of my bosses deciding to go back to school. When we discussed our plans to go back to school, I realized she was in 2 of the classes I was going to take. I decided to actually go back to school. During this semester both of us ended up quitting Amazon so I finally came clean to her about the stunts I pulled. She laughed so damn hard and said she suspected that was the case when I was not in a class we were supposed to have together the previous semester, but that she went along with it because she hated her boss and was planning to quit for a while.

I don't do same day call outs to fill in. Its a sign of bad management and it can be very disruptive in your personal life. So YES I will lie in this regard.
Yes, I've told them lies if I need to. But not all of them but them ones that be soul destroying. Only had one like that and i told them these
- my windowshield is shattered
- i have to go to the dentist and i won't be able to talk (it got rescheduled and I went with my family outta town for a few days.)
- car broke down
- i'm sick
- someone spanked me too hard with a burning paddle and I have to go to the hospital to get the skin of my ass treated (lol not that one buuuut)
And they didn't bother me about it until i came back after the dentist trip. They said I missed too many days and I still needed to TELL someone. I did, but it wasn't recorded... so i had to BRING AN EXCUSE FOR ALL THEM. So they said "bring the doctor's notes and we'll see you tomorrow." Well... i sat in their bathroom one last time, dropped my key in the toilet and rode into the sunset.
😂😂😂😂 yassss

Yup it's necessary , i over extended for a year went to office when they called and mostly in night shifts every two weeks did everything i could to be on good side without buttering the manager but by showing it in work.
I fell sick for days due to that and at the year end during promotions and apraisal they promoted others but not me they couldn't even give me proper reason why.
They looked at me as some kind of slave i believe and from that day i never extended my shift i made some stories every ficking time they asked they definitely will know it's bc how they treated me.
You have to care for yourself even if you prove you are hardworking they will use it and piss all over you and use you that's all.You had no obligation to go to work on a day you had previously planned to take off. You did have plans -- you planned not to work.
I haven’t lied in over fifteen years. I don’t tell them why i’m not working unless they ask, and i don’t care what they think of my explanation if they do.
When people put an end to job fear in the US, we can permanently change the entire economy for the better almost overnight. They need us more than we need them. Not that I worked for a very long time, only in summer because I'm really busy with classes when I'm studying and don't have time to do any jobs. But I've fortunately never had to make an excuse to skip work, again partly because in summer I didn't have any classes so I pretty much had nothing else to do with my time, I only skipped when I was genuinely sick.
Oh yeah, I don't owe that job anything besides my bare minimum. I'm replaceable in their eyes so why would I give them my all. 😂
Yeah one time I wanted 2 days off. So I told my boss that my grandfather had died, and that his wake was on Thursday, and on Friday we were going to bury him. He said to me "I'm sorry about your grandpa" sure you can take Thursday & Friday off. I didn't lie to him, I just didn't tell him that he died 17 years ago..
Never had the chance so far or the reason
I am also a big beliver in trust and work in a small enugth places that its not a copration but a personal thingSometimes, but usually about why I'm taking PTO. I can't take it off for just personal religious reasons unless it's a major holiday, so I'll just say I'm visiting someone in another state.
I once told my boss I had a serious personal matter to attend and wasn't able to attend for overtime.
The serious matter... I was having a dump lolNot as an adult, but I’ve always had leave time to use when I needed it.
As a teenager yes, I did, on a couple of occasions. In life, you need things to make it work
1 money ie: a job
2 good friends you can rely on
So, if you get passed over for a raise you will know whyUsually I don't go in because I'm sick, injured or I have stuff I need to get done like replace a tire, go to the dentist, etc.
As a manager I don't care WHY people call out, only that they did.
Everyone needs self care days in my opinion. If I get called on my off days I either refuse or just don't answer. Call display is a wonderful thing.
You didn't lie you have plans to get a Carmel macchiato 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sometimes I do that. If I didn't, they would have me working 7 days a week.
I've only lied online
Never
