Like my cousin worked as a dumpling maker and an engineer when she was a student employee before coming to my area near Toronto.

My uncle is both a doctor and an artist and makes the same amount at both jobs.

My friend worked as a consultant and also as sales associate before quitting to run his tutoring business.

My mom worked as engineer for two different companies in the same year simultaneously.

I also know a lot of people who work both as TA's and as Research Scientists because they didn't qualify for student loans due to high family income.

I think it depends on the person. Some people cannot multitask so they should stick to one lane. Some people can diversify without losing focus. I personally would rather have multiple streams of income just in case something fails, but I can see the rationale behind putting all your effort into something if it is your labor of love. I'm not in love with any of my income streams though, so if they didn't work out I'd just pick another one.
