I don’t want to work sundays no more?

So I’m currently working two jobs. A full time job and a part time job. And I’m currently working 7 days a week and I hate it. I work from
7:30-4 Mondays through Fridays at a cemetery then whenever we get a funeral on a Saturday I work that day aswell. Then on Tuesdays and every other Friday I work from 5-8:30 at a restaurant as a cook and on sundays I work from 1:30-5 I don’t mind working Saturdays at my full time job because it’s super easy and I’m making overtime plus I can bring my dog to work on Saturday so I actually really like it. I’ve been working like this for over a year and it was alright but then we got a new cook that took my sundays for me. But last Wednesday he walked out and now im scheduled to work sundays again and I don’t want too because I want a day off. We are now down to two cooks and they want me to step up but I want to step down but I feel bad because the other cook already works at that job 50+ hours a week and now her dad might be dying. I don't know how to break the news. I’d like to say “I can no longer work sundays” but then they will just put it on my other coworker who already works at that job way to much.

Yo dude working 7 days a week is way too much, I'd be beat too. Here's what I'd do:

First talk to your full-time job boss and see if you can arrange your shifts better so you don't have to work as much on Saturdays. Maybe a shorter shift or only when there's actually funerals. They gotta work with you some.

Then at the restaurant, I'd be straight up. "Look, I've been killing myself working both jobs non-stop. I need one day off and Sundays aren't gonna work anymore. I know it's rough being short staffed but I have my limits."

Offer to stay on Tues/Fri evenings and Saturdays if they need the help. But put your foot down on no Sundays. Your mental health has to come first before burning out totally.

If they get attitude, remind them you've been busting your butt and you deserve one day. Suck it up if they guilt trip you but don't back down. Maybe the other coworker can pick up a few more shifts or they find a replacement fast. Not your problem!

Stick to your guns dude. Once you give an inch they'll take a mile. You gotta take care of yourself first. Hope it all works out!

But why are you working 2 jobs? do you have a huge debt or something? Honestly, i think your pushing your body too much. If i were you i would just quit the part-time job to be honest.

You can’t control whether or not your boss hires more people nor is that your responsibility to deal with. Just say you can no longer work Sundays and change your availability. If the other guy does the same, the manager can cover it or find coverage because that’s their responsibility as managers. Don’t overthink it, just do the “selfish” thing and tell them you can’t work Sundays anymore, put it in writing and move on. What they do on Sundays from that point on is not your problem

So quit, it's not that hard

I mean I do 70 hours a week and take a day off every year but I'm working with what I love and am self employed
