Did I get the job or not?

I had a phone interview yesterday. She went through the job description and asked about my job history. Asked what was i looking for job wise and the lay. Asked was i willing to do a hair follicle drug test and background check etc and then sent me some onboarding paperwork. She told me she would contact me when she would schedule my drug test but she hasn’t contacted me today at all

Based on the fact there are likely to be other applicants, it would appear logical they are still carrying out interviews. That being the case, I would expect the test to be at least a week away, maybe longer depending on how many more being considered.

She's most likely busy and it may take a little more time than what she anticipated. I defer back to the old sayings... patience is a virtue and all good things come to those who wait, often rings true.

Maybe she forgot to contact you or she will contact you later. I understand that you're anxious but these things take time.

Probably yes. Scheduling all the onboarding requirements often takes HR a few days. Just be patient.

Usually a conditional offer of employment has to be given before they do a background and drug testing.

Usually at this point it is a job assuming you pass the background check and drug test. I think that they typically schedule those tests within 3 business days.
