My Two Favourite Films So Far This Year (2016)


Just a quicker disclaimer, these films weren't released in 2016, they're just films I watched this year that I really liked and made me think a lot.



As a past time when I've done all my University work I tend to watch lots of films, and these are the two that I've enjoyed the most so far.



Let's get to it:



1) Donnie Darko (2001)



Donnie Darko has officially become my number one film ever, beating Gran Torino. It took me a while to udnerstand what was going on during the film, but the story line is epic and weird. I can't believe it has taken me so long to watch it, but I'm glad I have now. I have a serious celebrity crush on Drew Barrymore in this film, in my opinion, she is very underrated as both actress and in beauty. Rest of the cast were amazing. The ending is mind-blowing. A must watch. I also really liked the 80s music like Echo and the Bunnymen and Tears for Fears.

2) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2014)



I was in a bit of a romantic mood when I watched this, so forgive me if this choice is a bit soppy, but I do have an emotional side to me and it really hit home. I had heard about this film from a bunch of girls I know, so I initially thought "Omg it's going to be too girly and I'm not going to like it", but after watching the trailer I thought what the heck, it's got Jim Carrey in it, it's worth the watch. I wasn't disappointed, and it's up their with my top films ever.



I'd recommend you watch it if you haven't. If you have already, what were your thoughts?
