Something strange happened today.

I turned on one of the movie channels and there was a movie called "A Dog's Purpose" in progress.

I think it was only rated two stars, so I expected it to be pretty bad.

When I turned it on it was already in progress and I just happened to tune it in when they were showing a German Shepherd rescuing a little girl and then preventing a bad guy from shooting a cop in the back.

Turns out the dog had been shot in the process and died in the cops arms.

That hit me so profoundly I almost lost it. To be honest I did lose it. My Shepherd died in my arms two years ago and I never got over it.

In the next scene, the dog is reincarnated and comes back as another dog. That dog has a life with its owner, shares her ups and downs, and then ages and eventually dies again, only to have yet another new life.

After that I had to turn it off because I was crying like a baby.

I was shocked. This was a trivial yet profound movie. I understand why watching it superficially might lead to a poor rating. And maybe I read more into it than was really there. But not much in my life has affected me so deeply recently and when I get a chance I'm going to try to sit through the whole thing.

There are only two movies on your list I have not seen. I liked all of the ones that I have seen.
