For me I could never date a woman bigger then me just because it's wouldn't look right to me but honestly if your happy about your self regardless of how you look then that's on you I won't care about ya just like I won't care about anyone else that's there life I can't change that if you wanna be fat be fat you wanna be this or that be this or that
Your headline asks a question to which you could respond 'Yes' to, but if you were to have the same sentiment but answered the addendum you would answer 'no.' I'm going to guess you'll have some skewed results because of that.
No, but only technically. Nobody without a fetish finds it attractive and you'd have to be a moron to think it's healthy, but they ARE making people think it's OK.
You can be heavy and be healthy. We needed someone to show people that they are proud to be themselves - regardless of stretch marks or tummy rolls. We needed a role model for the girls out there that think they're too fat and are starting to become bulimic or anorexic. It doesn't matter if she is heavy, not your body and not your problem. she's helping young girls accept themselves for who they are and not look up to size 0 models.
All the studies show that obesity is a risk for cardiovascular disease, strokes and more issues. Even if your blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetic profile is OK for now, the issues increase the more time passes. Fat and healthy is a misnomer. Extra body weight alone, especially obesity is a huge risk. It makes your heart work harder and it stresses your joints and bones. Obese people are not necessarily lazy, but they may be deluding themselves about their health profiles.
So heavier people who are exercising and eating right are still unhealthy? Most people eat chips and sweets all day and won't gain an ounce while someone else can eat a chip and gain 10 pounds. It all depends on the person and you don't know anything about their diet or their body. You can't just make a blanket statement and say everyone heavy is unhealthy because not everyone is. I understand that someone who has steadily gained weight and isn't planning on losing may be unhealthy but how do you know that's what lizzo is doing? What exactly do you know about lizzos past that makes you a medical expert all of a sudden? Her medical history, emotional stress and diet all greatly factor in and you know nothing about her.
From a host of studies. The risk factors from being obese alone, and having no other illnesses, rises over time. Not mildly overweight. But rolls of fat and extra large. If you are obese, something isn't right about your eating and your exercising. You cannot be eating healthy or exercising enough if you continue to be obese. You are taking in more calores than you are expending and not exercising enough to add muscle and burn off calories and excess weight. The studies followed people for 20 and 30 years to get this information.. I don't know a thing about Lizzo or her issues. She may have an autoimmune issue that affects her weight. I haven't a clue. I'm just reporting what studies show. Lizzo may be the healthiest she can be with whatever issues she has. I know all the factors you state affect how a person lives their life. I'm just reporting on some of what I read about obesity health factors... Not on LIzzo.
"So heavier people who are exercising and eating right are still unhealthy?"
Yes there is a clear correlation between obesity and so many health conditions - heart disease , heart attacks , strokes , type 2 diabetes , sleep apnea, several forms or cancer, gastrointestinal issues, depression , anxiety. The amount of medical research that has been conducted on this is vast.
"You can't just make a blanket statement and say everyone heavy is unhealthy because not everyone is." What the medical research indicates is that obese people are much more prone to the conditions that I mentioned above. The risk is much , much higher.
" Most people eat chips and sweets all day and won't gain an ounce while someone else can eat a chip and gain 10 pounds"
People become obese because they consume more calories then they should. They may not realize it due to not being aware of how much their body needs but at a basic level that is how it works.
Understand that this current trend of obesity is not normal in human history. We have been around for over 200,000 thousand years and this is the first time in history that we have had access to so much food. You are 17 and may think that this trend where the majority of people are obese is somehow normal but it is not. When I was a kid it was very , very rare to see obese people. But I would urge you to look at the historical date; when sugar started being substituted for fat in many processed foods the obesity levels started to slowly climbs up - this was in the early 80's and now we are at a point in our history where most people in the US are obese.
People don't become obese because they slaked off on their diets for a day or two - they tend to become obese because they are are exposed to a life time of sugar and huge portions. This , sadly, is the American diet. I have traveled to several different countries outside of the US and in no place will you see as many obese people as in the US.
"It doesn't matter if she is heavy, not your body and not your problem. she's helping young girls accept themselves for who they are and not look up to size 0 models. "
This is a myopic view point based on thinking that one person's behavior or issues do not effect other people. What we do will effect other people some how. If someone is driving while intoxicated I could say that it is not my car and not my body so it is not my problem. But what if that person kills some one with his / her car? If the people next door /play loud music at night I could say not my music not my house so not my problem. But their loud music will effect my sleep and thus my health.
It may not be my body but it will become , by extension , our problem; Why? - obese people are more likely to: - get fired / laid off from job - end up on government assistant - this comes from our takes dollars - end of with a host of health conditions which will effect their ability to work and so have a negative impact on the economy. - when they get older and sicker due to their obesity and are not able to work they will become a burden on family members that will have to help take care of them.
Under no circumstances should obesity be celebrated or promoted - It is unhealthy , it is making this county sick, and it is socially irresponsible.
I'm just saying screen writerstheses days suck. No new idea, constant remakes of old movies mostly ruining them. I hope you would at least try to be original.
@Burtonfan Just finished watching the silly little B movie with Statham, "The Meg." It was a good laugh. Jawsesque GIGANTIC shark that kept attacking people like Moby Dick. Made no sense whatsoever. People CONSTANTLY falling in the water when the shark approached. Statham always saving them at the last minute.. showing off his gigantic abs... It really was a treat... Mad Max Fury Road was riveting though. Sure. The same trope, but new characters and reasons... I find it more disturbing that there are direct copy remakes of 30, 40, 60 year old movies. Remakes can be OK. But twist it! Seems like they're milking a cash cow...
@Smiley_face101 If you have lots of muscle you will weigh more always, but your body will be slimmer looking and fit smaller clothes over time. You'll also burn more calories and be able to eat more to maintain that muscle. Eventually find out your PERCENTAGE of body fat. That doesn't equate to BMI which just lines up with height to weight. You might be considered overweight according to BMI. But if your percentage of body fat is low, say 17% for a woman, you are NOT overweight.
@Screenwriter Everything you said was correct until you said that 17% percent for a girl was low. 17% is what should be considered extremely average-- anything below 13% or 14% for a girl is low. Above 20% is high. Above 25% is fat. Above 30% is morbidly obese.

Uh... I guess? But "being herself" includes promoting her obesity as attractive, a la wearing a thong and shaking her massive ass on live TV, for example.
id rather have her think she is pretty then have her call herself ugly and everyone else that watches her videos. she didn't tell people to be fat, she is just trying to show that she has more to her then just being fat
She can sing really well and has some songs that aren't about sex or partying, that's artistic enough. Just because you dont like the way she looks doesn't mean she isn't a good person
Well we aren't talking about whether she's a good person or not; I didn't suggest that she's immoral or something. Although, in a way, promoting a disgusting and unhealthy body type as not only healthy, but attractive, is immoral, kind of. Because it affects how other people think. And the thing about objective reality is that it's objective whether we think it is or not-- obesity is gross and unhealthy. That's a fact. Whether we THINK it is or not doesn't really matter. So in a sense, she isn't that great of a person, if you look at it from that angle. In other ways, I'm sure she's a fine human.
I'm not suggesting that you called her immoral, im suggesting that its immoral of you to shame her for trying to be happy with herself. whether women are confident about their weight or embarressed by it, people aren't going to stop trying to look a certain way. Lizzo is just being confident in her other talents, she never told anyone to accept that they are fat and not do anything about it. Im sure she is trying to lose weight, but she's not gonna lecture her audience about weightloss, she's gonna work on her own body without trying to influence peoples views of themself because she is an artist, she creates art, she isn't our doctor, she doesn't need to tell us what to do with our bodies, she's creating music because that is what she loves
it's not wrong to promote it as attractive because it is to a lot of people. but that body type is dangerous to promote as "healthy". She might be, because she has celebrity personal trainers keeping her working on her heart health, but girls and kids that see her and idolize her do not.
"it's not wrong to promote it as attractive because it is to a lot of people" uhhh... yes, it is wrong, because it's not attractive. The people who think it is are objectively stupid. Catering to stupidity is wrong.
I think there are to many issues with this question. Is it wrong to try and say obesity is healthy and ok-yes However if a big woman is ok with her weight in any size and feels good about themselves then fuck it because confidence is sexy and feeling sexy is sexy
Yeah no, this isn't a rhetorical question. Your just rude. You dont get to say it's a rhetorical question and thing that just nullifies everything just like punching someone isn't nullified by calling it a prank
You need to realize that the agenda women have worked long and hard on says that obese women are attractive while men who are much less overweight are disgusting pigs

so many women attacking you who would be disgusted by a guy just 20 pounds overweight lol... such shameless hypocrisy
i wouldn’t worry about it. she’s getting fucking roasted on every social media platform. the memes are hilarious. one was like “we don’t need a bomb to drop on iran. we can just drop lizzie”
From what I have seen from her I don't think she promots it at all she mostly promots just being confident and loving yourself but that stunt she pulled at the game was just trashy.
Body acceptance is healthier than being depressed and feeling like crap all the time. I haven't heard this women sing though she's able to walk isn't she? I remember once there was a show on TLC
Dunno what you mean about walking and TLC, but it's really not healthier than that unrelated thing-- physique and your feelings are not the same. They can affect each other, sure, but they're not the same. Whether you feel nice and fine or whether you feel sad... if you're fat, your kidneys and joints don't care how you FEEL about your weight. If you (not YOU you, I mean people in general of course) are sad about your weight and don't like it, then... do something about it. Rather than lying and saying it's attractive, when literally everyone knows it isn't, even if they don't say so.
Mkay, again, since you missed it the first time, being skinny does not mean that one is anorexic. People need to stop saying it, since it's objectively and measurably wrong. People are neither "you must be obese" or, if they aren't obese, "you must be anorexic." You have created a false dichotomy. Saying "obesity/fatness is gross and unhealthy," which is true, is not promotion of anorexia. If you think it is, you're wrong.
Skinny = underweight Premoting women (not females, animals are females) being below what is consider normal weight is premoting anorexia. Your problem is that you consider underweight being normal weight and normal weight being overweight.
Also I am not anywhere near Lizzo (as in much slimmer) and seeing her does not make me want to be at her weight so she does not premote anything. I really love listening to Britney Spears but it does not mean I will go blonde now.
Sis you're clearly self-conscious and insecure about your weight, which is why you continuously say these things on all the posts all over GaG. Lying to everyone with bullshit like "skinny = anorexic," which is stupid and incorrect, isn't going to help you any. You continuously use BMI as an indicator of health, when anyone with sense knows that BMI does not mean anything-- body fat percentage is what matters, and BMI is not body fat percentage. Also, you have already failed in your own irrationality; if Lizzo isn't promoting obesity by being fat, and you don't want to be blond just because you listen to Britney Spears, then why would "Underweight models cause women to strive the underweight look thus premoting eating disorders such as anorexia" this bullshit be true? It isn't. Spare us your moronic, not-based-in-reality rhetoric, please. I'm losing brain cells here reading your comments.
Oh wow okay, I am super comfortable with myself. But I know that there are way too many girls that might read comments like yours and would think all men love super skinny girls which is false of course. So all I do is trying to put a mirror infront of your face. I did not call all the skinny people anorexic. My best friend is skinny af and eats a lot, its her build. Same with overweight people, a lot of people are neturally big just like some people are tall and some are short. If anything, you are the one to call women with body fat percentage (since bmi does not consider muscle mass which I have a lot of) over 20 obese
... Did you miss the thong shaking on live TV? That is something that either 1) comedians do or 2) people (females) who want to be seen as attractive do. That is all.
If I'm listening to a singer I care about her voice and singing skills not her looks. If she was a model like Tess Holliday then I could have raised some concerns.
GROSS! But this is what marketing does, clothing lines do this just to sell, they don't give a shit, new niche is born and fat people have biggers support, because fat people can't move. They are keyboard warriors. FAT = UGLY!
haha what victorias secret angels are the best women! But well marketing seems like it works, let's have fat women. Yay! Wrong world when people have too much of everything, obesity starts. Thin screens , fat people.
Well, yes, they are, and again, all things are not related. The question isn't about anorexia. People are not automatically either obese, and if they're not obese, anorexic. You've created a false dichotomy here.
Great point mistixs! I think this guy has a problem with fat women. If he thinks Lizzo being overweight is promoting obesity but apparently underweight women aren’t promoting anorexia? Lmao. Ok. Reality check bud. Neither are healthy. But you don’t care about the underweight women cause at least they sent covered in fat right? 🙄
@HayleyMarie It hits me personally because I'm underweight because I don't eat enough. Last year my BMI went down to 15, which is "starvation level". I started to develop health problems because of it.
Anorexic models are part of the reason I'm afraid t become a healthy weight. So yeah I would say they're promoting anorexia.
In terms of health, being underweight is worse than being overweight. Which makes sense because if an overweight person gained 30 pounds, it would be unhealthy, but if I lost 30 pounds, I would literally have organ failure and die - if I even survived to that point.
I’m so sorry to hear that. It’s really a shame, and it’s also why I’m happy that nowadays women of all shapes and sizes are being celebrated. For years thin women have been idolized while the larger ones have been seen as unattractive. This has led to many self esteem and eating disorders in young women, such as yourself. The “Victoria’s Secret era” has clearly damaged a lot of young girls.

Skinny = underweight
Premoting women (not females, animals are females) being below what is consider normal weight is premoting anorexia.
If self love puts your body in harm it isn’t love. If your confident in your body but find out your weight could kill you that’s nothing to promote.
It is one of the worst things that anyone can do to a country. Obesity should not be promoted or celebrated in any way , shape, or form. Ever.
Being fat on does not necessarily imply that you’re promoting that weight as healthy nor attractive, even if said person does that in skimpy clothes
... Did you miss the thong shaking on live TV? That is something that either 1) comedians do or 2) people (females) who want to be seen as attractive do. That is all.
I didn’t.
Okay. It was pretty clear promotion of her body as allegedly sexy.
I dont think she does it on purpoe, she is as she i and she can't help it... People do it to themselves.
As she is*
"and she can't help it" uhhh... what? Controlling one's weight is entirely within our power. Who else controls her weight, if she doesn't?
Ig she doesn't want to do anything about it, guess she loves herself and that doesn't make her a model
Clearly she doesn't. She'll wish she had once she gets diabetes in a few years.
Mean prick u are lmao
Not really. Just honest and correct and literate.
Eh im too at times when im in the mood
If I'm listening to a singer I care about her voice and singing skills not her looks. If she was a model like Tess Holliday then I could have raised some concerns.
GROSS! But this is what marketing does, clothing lines do this just to sell, they don't give a shit, new niche is born and fat people have biggers support, because fat people can't move. They are keyboard warriors. FAT = UGLY!
Are all the borderline anorexic celebrities promoting anorexia as healthy and attractive?
not really victoria s secret angels are really beauties!! It's just a marketing tactic, this fat is so gross !!
They aren't promoting anorexia, and that isn't the question. All things are not related.
If they're not promoting anorexia, then the women you mentioned aren't promoting obesity.
haha what victorias secret angels are the best women!
Yeah, so... BMI is not an accurate indicator of health or body fat percentage. Everyone knows that. So... 15 BMI does not necessarily mean anything.
