These films often receive negative responses from the general public and do poorly at the box office. Yet, Hollywood still continues to churn out these films. Why do you think the studio executives think that it is a good idea to make women the star of film franchises, whose main audience are men?
It worked fine for Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor. The problem isn't "female protagonists", it's "female protagonists who suck, and who you're expected to root for because they're female". THAT is where the trouble arises.
Incidentally, in that last picture, which one is supposed to be Chun-Li? With the possible exception of the one in the mask (who I'm guessing is supposed to be Vega), they all look less Chinese than I do.
Hollywood is a VERY liberal industry who's whole shtick lately is to empower women because men have been the heroes of movies and television for too long in their eyes. They feel that men are getting a false sense of importance (A big head) from watching movies. Now rather than making movies that are more realistic, they decided to swap the roles and give women a big head now.
Unfortunately 2 wrongs don't make a right.

They are working to destroy all of your cultural icons, history, institutions, etc. and shift what is acceptable culturally. It's a common communist tactic. They did it in Weimar Republic in the 1920s before the rise of Nazi Germany. They also did it during Mao Zedong's Cultural Revolution as well as many other communist attacks on nations. Hollywood are attacking American culture. They hate your country.

Some movies are good, some movies are bad. Its not depending on whats between the legs of the person playing the main role.
Hollywood is extremely left. During World War 2 many actors there were members of American Communist Party. Even Ronald Reagan used to be left- wing when he was an actor there.
They don’t think it’s a good idea. Tearing down “the patriarchy” is all they care about.
To get the other half of the world to buy tickets. Did you fail economics 101?
Nothing wrong with it. The only problem is when they try to write these action movies for women.
