This is the image of a real mermaid, in fact, not only do they exist, but they are not as beautiful as the fairy tales paint them, it belonged to Mr. P. TEYLOR BARNUM which was exhibited at the BARNUM American Museum in New York in 1842 and mysteriously disappeared during a fire in this establishment a day before its exhibition to the public, this gentleman became famous for exhibiting phenomena like siamese, dwarfs, people with giganticism, men with faces of wolves and all kinds of genetic disorder, apart from sewing torsos of monkeys to fish bodies to make them pass as mermaids, but after the mockery that this occasion, tube a stroke of luck and other people who had this mermaid and walked the peoples showing it off they decided sell her to BARNUM after her constant insistence, but again the Etymisonians achieved their goal and apparently started a fire where she disappeared. #littlemermaid #mattwalsh
I had a different opinion the last few times this was asked, but on further review I find it more disrespectful to give out sloppy seconds as a consolation prize than it would be to make an awesome new character. And I don’t mean like captain marvel or she hulk I mean actually good.

I think it is demonstrative of two things. First, the creative potentiality of Western culture is exhausted, so we will see a lot of imitation of foreign forms (anime) or previous works of art, to the point that old stories will be modified and run again and again, thus the numerous superhero sequels. Second, art becomes increasingly political as a culture declines, so we are seeing old stories revised to promote intersectional political orthodoxy.

Another unnecessary remake that won't be as good as the original, just so they can make a few bucks.
