I hate reality tv and most current pop stars, save my Gaga Monster outings.

But wtf this about? I don’t get “the table” part. Was it just an insult that chef shows do constantly? That’s the point of talent shows on tv, right? 99% get insulted and 1% goes on to make all the money in the world despite having no talent.

“Sara Beth said, “If Katy lays on the table, I think I’m going to pass out!” Katy then quipped, without missing a beat: “Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much!”

Maybe there’s more context. But “table” to insulting motherhood doesn’t seem linked…

I was actually watching this last night from the other end of the room… I didn’t see any… the one girl didn’t feel she measured up, despite her talent, and Katy was fighting for her to stay around… which I agree with.

It’s something nobody wants to face or overcome in life, the fear of doing something so uncomfortable or against the grain, like in the contestant’s case, potentially going far in a singing competition where the upside is so huge. It’s a huge risk yes… and I know what it’s like to stare fear in the face.

It’s easier to cop out than to push yourself and “face the cameras” when the competition gets tougher and the stakes get higher. Sure, she had a family back home, but when you leave early like that you COULD be doing them and yourself the biggest disservice of them all, when the looming payoff of American Idol is what it is, and you’re RIGHT there and you have that potential and opportunity RIGHT THERE in front of you.

There is no controversy. Other than maybe a media-generated one for a few clicks, I couldn’t care less about that… In reality, it’s a contestant weighing the risk of doing something crazy, verses going back to something that is “more secure, stable, even mundane…” the “normal life” to ensure the well-being of her and her family… which in this day and age, seems to also be a ridiculous uphill battle, but that’s another issue… It’s just fear and insecurity getting the best of someone.

But it’s like man, when you’ve been given a golden ticket and you’re not willing to try and see it through? Hmm… maybe that’s the only real issue here? It’s someone who’s maybe on the CUSP of breaking through and they’re chickening out. I’d argue you owe it to yourself AND your family to stay! It could be the best thing you’d ever do for them.

Contraversey sells. Katy Perry's pop career is basically over that's why she's on pop idol. Those teens and young 20 year old she was selling music to are now in their 30s with kids and settled down and the next generation don't really want to listen to a singer that's the same age as their mom. That's why you see her now all the time have PR wars with other artists, having mystery illnesses or addiction problems and being an uber bitch on American idol. Her role on American idol is obviously now to be the heel. It's a term I learned watching pro wrestling with my brothers. Was watching a documentary about this guy ric flair who was always the heel and everyone hated but in reality he was the big star because he sold the show. Anyway its all fake contraversey
