Villains are often the most entertaining part of a movie, cartoon or television series. But which ones have stood out the most or may never be forgotten?

I said the Joker but Darth Vader is good too given the depth of his back story. BUT the best villain of all pop culture is Thanos. He had sound logic, reason, what committed, organized and would even have people on this planet following him today if he was real.

He is scary because he is so believable and real. He is the best villain because it could happen and people would follow him. He is the best also because he could win… 14,000,605 to 1.

Thanos was a good villain. Appears to be noble - but when "sacrifices" need to be made, somehow he isn't the one making the sacrifice. It would have been a much better ending if he had turned to dust with the snap.

Of course his idea was flawed - the population would regrow pretty quickly.

Vader does have a good back story, though the messed it up in episode3. Much better to have him actually want to restore order after living as a slave.
