I played this game called Tunic December last year and i still think about the good ending watched months later. moved me almost to tears, not quite there but almost.
Has a video game ever made you emotional?

I've been moved across quite a range of emotions playing video games: fun, anger, sadness, impatience, joy, laughter, sometimes boredom (when I'm about to quit the game).
This is a pet peeve of mine but I dislike the implication that negative emotions, like those expressed outwardly by tears, are the ultimate state of being "emotional" as though joy, laughter, calm, anger, etc, don't count. It's especially a pet peeve of mine since a Zen Buddhist monk or Stoic sage (ideals never to be grasped by human beings) are supposed to feel nothing but inner peace and joy, so they would never be upset about anything.
Going by that implication that emotional means being moved to tears or almost, the strongest moments I recall was playing Final Fantasy 4 (or 2 in the US) as a boy. Some of the scenes where main characters sacrificed their lives on behalf of the team were very moving moments for me.
Nope, it is easy to get invested in a storyline in a game just like a movie if not more so because it is an interactive movie that you help write.

no, you´d be surprised (to anyone who hasn't played a beautiful game before) at how many games actually have super good lore/plots, and how amazing the art can be
a couple examples i have played would be hollow knight, and celeste, both really amazing games
Not if it's well-made. Heck, Walker Texas Ranger, MacGyver (TOS) , BlueBloods, etc ALL run the gamut on emotion or they wouldn't have been successful.
No, some have good stories. Even better ones than some movies.
Since I don't play video games it seems weird to me
No sometimes the plot or investment in characters is just that good.
No, is it any different then being moved by a movie or song?
Not at all
