1) Constant questions about your personal life. When people are constantly nosing around your personal business and personal life, it means they don't respect the life choices you've made. You tell them and then they have a whole bunch of alternatives or reasons why you should do something else. They don't respect you or your current situation. This is most common amongst people who are married with children not respecting childless people.
2) You say something and the person you are speaking to just simply stares at you like you're from Mars, rolls their eyes or just walks away from you. This is a body language way to say that they think you're a 3rd class citizen and that they are better than you. And in most cases, they are better than you and they want you to know it.
3) People treat you like a victim or a charity case. When people treat you like this, it means they think you're not good enough to make it on your own or they think that you are struggling in your life. And this is their testament to your competency, or lack thereof.
4) Constant mocking behind your back. If you are the butt of jokes or the person who is always the topic of conversation when it comes to gossip fodder, you couldn't possibly be respected any less by people.

Tell them what they do bothers you, and you don't like it and you want them to stop. If they don't stop, or if they disagree with you. Well then you have to respect yourself. So in return tell them to go fuck themselves, and don't say anything else, turn and walk away. I think they'll respond differently after that. If not well you just did the right thing.
“They’ll respond differently”.
That’s a good one.
