Why does my brother in law act two faced?

So I was dating a childhood friend for years and he was biracial. My mom and sister don't have a problem with it. My dad and brother in law are racist. Anyways my brother in law became best friends with him. When I found out that my ex was cheating on me and I forgave him but he did it again I dumped him. It was one of the hardest things to do because I really wanted things to work. After I dumped him my brother in law told me to make sure next guy wasn't black. I have three nieces and I have asked my sister and him what happens if they end up with a black guy. My sister can careless but her husband doesn't like that. My mom brought my sister and I not to care about color as long as they love you.

i don't think your brother in-law is two faced. I think he is very clear about his feeligns. the fact that he may "befriend" your ex simply meant he was acting

on of my best friends got married a few years ago. his wife (also a friend of mine) had told us for years about how racist her father was. she said I guarantee you that at my wedding he is going to try and befriend you. that's exactly what he did. he went out of his way to try and appear friendly. sometimes a racist person will do this simply out of denial or to try and convince people that they aren't racist (like the racist person who says "I'm not racist, my best friend is black")

My point is why are they friends with them if they are racist? They are still friends until this day which I don't get.

well he may not be entirely racist. like he may think a black guy can be a friend but can't be a good partner for his sister in-law. I dated a gal who was white once, and her mother wasn't against us dating but hated the idea that her daughter would potentially marry a black man because of all the potential problems interracial dating can cause

it's honestly impossible for us to know without knowing the guy and the situation entirely, but that is a guess

There are different forms of racism. I suspect that your brother-in-law does not hate or want to harm Blacks, but he stereotypes and has prejudices towards them. Thus, as in your situation, a racist person can befriend a person, a race, a culture, etc., of a people, whom they have racists beliefs towards.
