My friend won't tell me what's wrong and I'm really worried. Help?

My friend is sad. But the thing is I don't know why. She won't tell me. Today she was just kind of sad and I asked her what's wrong and she wouldn't really give me a straight answer or told me she'd tell me later. I'm afraid something's wrong. I asked her if she was depressed and she just shrugged. Truthfully speaking I am a little agitated she won't tell me because I've told her countless things about me, but I get why she'd not want to tell me if it's really that personal. This particular friend is very close to me, but I've only become close friends with her around this year, so I don't know her parents or anything. I know her mother is dating a man right now but I have no clue what happened to her father and I don't want to ask because I'm afraid I'll say something wrong. I don't like seeing my friend like this, but she won't tell me what's going on and I don't know what to do. Help?

give her a really big hug and allow her to be vulnerable like you know maybe be like i dont know what you're going through but im here for you and maybe you could tell her about a vulnerable time in your life

Just say you're there for her if she need anything. That all you can do. Don't try to "fix" her problem for her if she don't want you to.

Just let her know you are there for her should she need support or want to talk. Let her know that you will always keep things that she tells you in confidence and not gossip.

Different react in different ways to things just be there for her and she wants to talk she will - can't force it no matter how good your intentions are.

just hang out with her. don't push her. good friends don't judge each other so don't advice her coz she may understand wrong.
