If the money is an investment in the kid's future (college, vocational training, etc), then yes. If they're just freeloading and not really doing anything with their lives, then no.

Hell yes I can't imagine making my kid work below 18 . If im healthy have my legs arms and eyes and working why not.
I thought the question was below 18 I read it wrong. Well , that's good at 14 really it depends from the kid. But personally I would do that only if it's at my job or a very very trusted person. I say that because I started working at 13 but I had a very bad experience I ended up spending my teen years in psychiatry &therapy sessions..
It depends on whether the child is further persuing education, realistically at 18 they can't afford to go to school on their own. But if they're not doing anything, NO.

Only until they are out of highschool. After that they need to start doing their part. No free rides.
If they go to college, yes. If they have finished school and don't plan going to college, then they should get a job ASAP and contribute with money.

well yea am not sending my kid off to work with strangers
Yea if they don't work yet. I won't be working until at least 24yo, so I need financial support
If the money is used for something serious i think it is great, but if parents finance their partying and such it is quite sad.

Only if its necessary if not then there's no need to let your child be a mooch
hey maybe when it was the 50's and the economy didn't fucking suck
You're 18, which means you're an adult so grow the F up!
Look at those downvotes! Lol
In my opinion not after you graduated from University
It's better if we become independent when younger... Life would be hell lot easier few years later
For college, yes. But besides that, encourage independence
Grow up... thats part of the problem now a days, perpetual children. Let them take the initiative and figure things out if they want it.
Hell no if you can't earn your own money well tough shit ain't my problem. I never had help beyond advice.
20 years old should be the limit, It's extremely difficult to get yoyr shit together and get out by the time you're 18
Depends, according to family court I have to till they are 21
This depends on the situation.
It's always optional.
I hope they will... :D
