It depends on how young the kid is, what method of physical pain, the wrongdoing, and the parent's intent. One change could alter my response.
If the kid did something to deserve punishment then yes.

Yes.. in India.. parents can do it.. if they find their kids are doing/ going wrong.. But I would not be harsh to stop my partner if she crosses the line.

Getting spanked is pretty normal in my culture. My mom literally told my teachers in school not to hesitate and hit me if I did something wrong lol.
Wow your teacher should have call child services. Trust me you were better of in foster care if I was your teacher I would have called social child services on your mom. You had abusove parents your mother never deserve you.
As I said spanking kids is NORMAL in my culture. Corporal punishment was also normal in schools. So... 1) the world is bigger than your backyard 2) my parents weren't abusive 3) my parents gave me and my siblings an amazing life , probably better than yours . 4) hell no I would NOT have been better off in foster care.

Well I mean kids are smart they know better. For example my 6 year old neice she knows better if she misbehave that means no tablet for a week. So she learn her lesson. My sister and I we were abuse when we were kids so maybe that could be the reason why I don't agree with spanking. I can see what you mean but my sister and I we got wiped with the belt. I would never put a hand on my future kids.
It is legal to spank or slap your kid. If it turns into abuse it is illegal.
