Do any other girls wish to be a trad wife, do any men like traditional women?

Lately I’ve really been wanting to be a traditional wife. I want to cook and clean the house, sell baked goods, take care of the children while my husbands at work. I’m 16 and I know that will be ahead in the future but I really like the idea of living a traditional life like a woman in the 1950’s. Am I the only girl who feels this way? And do any men still want a traditional life like this?

Unless your husband is earning about $200k/year and saving a shitload of that, a "traditional" (*) family is a dangerous thing to have due to the chances of financial disaster.

(*) "Traditional" - that's horseshit. Why? Because it hasn't been "traditional" in over 2 generations - since the early 1970s. This is because of various factors - primarily the GOP giving tax breaks to the wealthy since 1980. This has forced poorer people to work harder for less in a more unstable economy. The wealthy and idiot conservatives may not like the idea, but "spreading the wealth" a bit actually creates a safer society (the kind in which "traditional" families can flourish) as well as creating better wealth stability for the rich because they don't have to rely so much on foreign customers to earn their money and rely more on the income from their very own workers!

I have been hearing that more lately, about how many would like to live in the 50s and I also here for old women that lived then and miss the 50s. Just do exactly what you feel and ignore outside influences.

Yeah, good forbid that someone suggest that the economic and social benefits of returning to a slightly more conservative family unit actually improves life for a vast majority of people. I mean it is statistically measurable and there's significant evidence that a traditional test parent household produces more well adjusted adults and a mother that stays at home improves those odds.

I really do want to be a traditional wife. But I probably should be able to support myself too, and contribute to our finances in marriage, so I'm studying to be an elementary school teacher. I think that's the job that'll allow me the most time with my children, and it should leave me with enough time to keep up the household things, time to cook dinner and clean the house. Plus I really like kids, and think the job truly is a good fit for me. I'm someone who likes to work and do things so I'm not sure how'd I'd do if I just stayed home to care for the house while my kids and husband were at school and work, so I think I'll be happier being a teacher because that gives me the best of both worlds.

I love that response! I’m studying psychology but I’m also really into baking so I’m debating between counseling or baking as a business! I love working aswell but I want to be able to have time to take care of my kids and I’d prefer to homeschool them and take them to classes once a week aswell so I wouldn’t just be home by myself!

I wanted to be a baker for my entire childhood, I always imagined myself running a little bakery out of my home. That sounds like an awesome idea, I know someone who is a home baker and it's worked out well for her.
