Uncle ignores me?

My uncle was always the fun uncle when I was growing up, he played with me, made me laugh and I loved him, even when he had his own kids he made sure to pay me attention and still play with me. But for the last few years he been cold, he doesn’t speak to me or any of my other family members except my aunty and his kids, he won’t be in the same room as us, he won’t acknowledge us, he avoids family events, he didn’t come to my last birthday meal because he had to ‘cut the grass’. I haven’t seen him in ages because every time me or my mom or grandparents go to their house he stays in another room and my mom and grandparents don’t understand why, they don’t know why he’s like it either and it makes me really sad because I miss my old uncle and how he used to be. I don’t like this version of him.

It seems he is ignoring all you and your/his family (well not his kids and wife)
Something happened ! Someone knows something and is not talking about it.
To be this close and out the sudden gives the cold shoulder it means something serious happened. Don't over think it, it happens way more than you think. If you really must get back to how it was! Try to reach to your uncle's wife and try to put some effort so you can spend time with both, your uncle and his wife. Try to reach out, it might make things better.

I’m not blood related to my uncle, his wife is my aunty by blood and she’s fine with us. So I’m really not sure what happened, my granddad was speaking to me about it today and he said he wished he had answers for me but he really doesn’t know where the change in behaviour came from.

Am very familiar with this situation, i know that my dad and uncle (mom's side) had some argument and things went down south. Until one day i had to step up and adress the elephant with my parents and with my uncle, things never got back as it used to be, but at least i understand. No one knows about it beside my parents and my uncle + his wife.

It sucks but my grandparents and mom and me have all sat down and talked to try and figure out what could be wrong, I’m positive that nothing went down that caused him to act like it because my mom and grandparents are just as clueless as I am. My aunty doesn’t address it, I don’t even think she realises it

His wife is my aunty by blood, I’m not blood related to my uncle. My aunty seems oblivious to it because she hasn’t changed and she’s normal with us.

We don’t ever see him so it’s hard to ask him anything because he hides

I'm guessing someone (probably your aunt) accused him of inappropriate behavior with someone in your family. So he is avoiding you guys to dispel any rumors about him; or not be tempted if the accusations are true.
