It depends on in what way they're toxic.

Just be very superficial with the person and spend little time in their company.

If you don't share a bedroom, spend more time in your room. Don't get into any indepth conversations with them.

In the meantime, keep looking for at affordable accomodation with someone else to share the costs with you
