Why does my best friend treat me different when around other friends?

Basically my best friend of many years and one of our other best friends celebrated my birthday this past Saturday. On the drive up there she was just fine and nice as usual, but once we got together it was like a flip of the switch, literally! She didn’t want to sit next to me and she was just all over our other friend as if it was her birthday. I don't know why she would act like this because we share and talk about everything together and she really is my ride or die, but she was just being hostile towards me. Whether it be the little hate comments or just acting like she didn’t want to be seen with me. She even ran up to our other friend when she got there and gave her a big hug, but never even offered me one for my birthday. Then when we left it switched again and it was like everything is back to normal. I hope that this made sense cause I tried to keep it short. I just don’t know if I should talk to her or just let it go. Because a part of me thinks it wasn’t entirely intentional, but I just don’t know. She’s truly my ride or die and I just don’t want to do anything that would risk not having that anymore ya know. Thanks!

Maybe it is because she saw that other friend after a looong time. It can happen and there is nothing serious to worry about here! You can bring it up to her but I think it would be awkward because I doubt she meant to be distant from you

Thanks for the advice, I was kinda leaning that direction and hopefully it will all work out ok
