Did your experience with family members of the opposite sex impact the way you see and interact with the opposite sex?

I wonder if ones relationship with family members impacts the way they see the opposite gender.
I personally don't have any hard feeling towards men in general but I think it's because my father and my brother are great men. All my uncles are also great men in long marriages with no abuse or cheating going on.
Therefore I find it hard to generalize about men or have hard feelings towards them. I'm sure good men don't only exist in my family.
My brother feels the same with women.

I feel like we live in a time where the sexes are always at war, at least on the media and social media and it's the only type of dynamics that we focus on instead on focusing on the good.

I think a lot of the "war of the sexes" mentality comes from the age of maturity, and lasts just into adulthood. Part of it can be a result of a dysfunctional relationship with the opposite sex parent, but another part is likely just a basic conflict between each gender's social strategy. When boys grow into men and the testosterone is flowing, it can be frustrating to realize that women are built differently, and aren't interested in sex the way boys are.

On the other hand, girls desire companionship, loyalty, and mature conduct from a man who can treat her properly. And it can be discouraging to see that they're often lying cheating dicks until they grow up. It's just coming to terms with adulthood.

I haven't understand the question really well, but I will try to answer, first of all there are many cultures in the world so guys and girls personality are different from place to place because the environment around them influence them. But in general guys won't feel attraction towards their sister so girls towards won't feel it towards their brother. So guys feeling towards other girls are different, and girls will feel different too towards other guys.

What i meant is that
Do men who hate women have a bad experience with their mom?
For example they had a mother that cheated on their dad or was abusive.

Or do women who hate men or are pessimistic about men have bad experience with an abusive men

Some people they might do, this is only because they didn't see different people and they actually don't try to see other people, because they have trust issue

My dad always spoilt me and is attentive to my needs so I could never settle for less in a relationship. As this is what I’m used to.


On the other hand, a lot of the guys in my family are cheaters. This has deeply impacted the way I trust men. I literally witnessed my cousin throw away his home and family after countless chances, showing no remorse and meeting new women all the time. This has made me kind of nervous meeting new men or choosing to date them.

I think it's nature and nurture. So the environment you grow up in to an extent shapes how you become as a person. How you're raised and where you're raised can play a part in your perception of others.

We should try and judge people on merit rather than what someone else from that group did.
