So I just got a new car on my birthday and I had went inside this morning because I wanted to decorate it a little and I found trash inside there was also like crumbs all over the dashboard and I think some crumbs on the floor but I didn’t really look at the floor much. But I just picked it up to throw it away and I said to my mom “look mom they’re leaving trash in my car already” I didn’t say it with an attitude or anything I said it more whiney I guess and she told me to stop with my attitude that my dad was the one that paid for the car and she cleaned it my dad did help me to pay for the car but he took my money that I had spent working full time for to get me the car too so I paid as well

Thank you guys for your answers I was confused by what my mom said I didn’t expect that reaction from her telling me that I’m having an attitude and stuff but maybe she was just cranky because it’s morning

Mice will make a home in cars with food. You don’t want a dirty car. Reminding someone to not leave garbage esp FOOD in your car, is Logical. Try not to let people make you feel unreasonable when you are being reasonable. You have a right to be firm in your resolve in situations where you are clearly being responsible. People don’t like it bc it is inconvenient to them , not bc you are wrong.

Don’t talk to your mom about anything feelings. She will 💯 use it against you and you are giving her ammunition to ignore the point and attack your being upset when you let her know you are upset. Don’t say you feel upset or sad or bad and don’t be upset with her. If you have a disagreement with her just tell her why you think what you think. Make your case and don’t bring feelings into it. Out-reason her do not try to persuade emotionally.

Jay, It’d be really nice if she was strong & supportive and you deserve to have that supper, but she lacks the emotional bandwidth atm and you have to accept that or you will be miserable living with her. Seek support from otters like your boyfriend hopefully and friends as you make them. ♥️

In this instance you should have give straight to whomever was in your car last and discuss it calmly. What’s a “typical female” 😯😐 lol there are 100s of cultures around the world. I feel like they both make me feel unreasonable sometimes. My dad’s a sweet dad but I sometimes get upset because I’m trying to talk to him seriously sometimes and he starts making it into a joke. My dad’s not an organized person at all his car is always trashy and his room too I’m in the middle I guess I always have my room fixed but my closet is always a disaster lol because it’s small and I just completely gave up on it so I just close it and pretend not to see it but other than that I do like to be organized

It's nothing just balance of power , they don't want you to question them back as you are younger to them no matter what they will see you as child whose potty bum they use to clean and now she's lecturing us on cleanliness lol.

See they are after all family you have to unsee some thibgs I understand it's a new car and it made you feel very uncomfortable happens.

But when you are dealing with someone you love or live with before questioning possibly wait if it repeats then question.

It may not feel right I get it but it will prevent clashes in family.

I’d tell him the same thing I told my dad to please not leave trash in my car but he wouldn’t do that also I wasn’t rude to my family at all and I wasn’t mad more kinda disappointed

I understand I just have you what there perception might be it's something like a personal experience you will understand that at later point of time not saying that you were wrong or rude you were not at all. he wouldn't do that let's give it sometime 😆😛.

And they might have forgotten not on purpose as your parents get older you have to have to have patience I am telling this in very generic way ok.
