Why are there more MIL than FIL problems?

Even when a FIL isn't your biggest fan, he rarely plots schemes, gossips nonstoppable to others or plays mindgames. The father tends to more straight-forward; then once he knows you guys are happy that's it. There is no elaboration.

Unlike the crazy MIL stories; even if you're happy she'll continue remembering the one trait she didn't like in me (not letting go), play games, tarnish your reputation and not stop unless your spouse intervenes. I've heard even some guys have problems with the MIL too.

Whenever I heard miracles stories about the spouse parents accepting you, it's the FIL that warms up but the MIL doesn't; she just pretends to be nice while forever disliking you. Serious why? Why are there more issues with MILS than FILS?

Correction: This question isn't about me. It's in general. I've been noticing this over the years too much. The FIL have a higher chance of coming around (they just need confirmation that you guys are happy and that's it; end of story) but if a MIL dislikes you so badly then OMG there is literally nothing you can do.

I have heard the same thing as you, but my experience is the opposite. My husband and my father don't like eachother AT ALL. My FIL and I get along fine, but he's not my favorite guy (to put it mildly). My MIL and I love eachother and I hold her in very high regard. She's just a beautiful person.

Sorry to hear about your husband and father's mutual dislike. In this case, nothing can be done and all that matters is that you guys are happy.

Exactly. At least the dislike is obvious and straight forward; no elaborated schemes or endless gossiping. I'd rather preferred being openly dislike than deal with a hypocrite being nice to my face and talk garbage behind my back to everyone.

Ha! Trust me, the men talk garbage. They complain about eachother to me and to relatives.

Mother-in-laws are a pain in the ass. They should be avoided as much as possible. But father-in-laws deserve all kinds of respect and love. I would like to call on my future father-in-law here; dear father-in-law, you have a place top on my head. But if possible, the woman who will be my mother-in-law should go and live with her other bride or groom or in an elderly care home. 😏

That's true. I haven't heard of a man complaining to their best friends or family members for hours on the phone about their child's spouse
