Do you think that our parents/grandparents always see us as good people in their eyes?

My sister and I had dinner with my grandma yesterday. My sister told her that one time she kinda got away with a great deal in a store (or something like that) by talking to the woman in charge and getting a big discount on a hair iron. My grandma then turns to me and says "see? You should be more like your sister. You shouldn't be too nice" and I was loike "what?" and my grandma said "Yeah, you're too kind, and wouldn't raise my voice"

I was shocked because apparently she doesn't know who I am? Like, I'm not kind to people, I tell them their truths, I've fought with older people who treat me badly and I was almost sued for difamation. Like, wtf.
And my grandma knows all about this.
Why is she like that?

Grandparents tend to see us as good and can't see us doing wrong
my maternal grandparents treated us like gold even though my late Uncles
wife would have a choice who came to their house, it hurts to this day but
it happens in families the strangest thing was my grandparents were going to get
buried next to my Uncle and his wife and here when my mom passed away
On Nov 10, 2003, my Uncle gave up their grave to my mom, and now my late mom
and my late maternal grandparents are buried next to one another but see how
life happens with people my late Uncle did everything to listen to his wife now she's
a widow.
