How do I tell my friend that It gets annoying when you always try to hang out with me every day without sounding like a douche?

everytime we do hang out he always brings up the idea of us hanging out and says "what you want to do tomorrow"? And I tell him I'm going to be doing other things, which I am but then he asks "can I come with" or "ok and what you doing after that"? He basically is always trying to find any timeframe or opportunity for us to hang out no matter what. To be honest I find it extremely weird. Then when we dont hang out for that day he texts me and asks what did you do today? Then I tell him that I went out or that I went on a hike. The he say "why didn't you invite me"? Basically to sum it up he seems to always want to tag along no matter what I'm doing. Even when I go out to buy food. I personally don't need someone to constantly tag along with me. I like to do things alone and enjoy time to myself. Oh and if you're wondering he isn't gay. Im not his only friend either.
