The other girls in my dance group hated me, was I the one at fault?

I was in an amateur dance group for 2 years. I got very good in those years, I practised a lot on my own and felt was surpassing the teacher (I’m not trying to be arrogant). I wanted to start to teach classes there too. However I felt as time went on the other girls and teacher really didn’t like it. I was feeling so uncomfortable that I quit. They are all still good friends now and I never speak to them. I can’t help but feel like I’m the one who did something wrong as they are all still very friendly with eachother. What do you guys think?

Honestly you did nothing wrong. It sounds like you worked really hard and it sounds like they were jealous. I'm sorry that you quit because of them. Maybe you can go back? Their reaction was not your fault.

I could see where your behavior would bother someone. You presumed that you were a superior enough dancer that you could teach, instead of being offered a teaching position before saying anything.

Maybe you're more flexible than them? Can you all do the splits?
