What would you do when you help someone and they turn against you?

My friend complains to me about her other friends/boyfriend/parents ALL THE TIME. How they're horrible to her, and she's always the victim. She asked me for advice so I told her what I would do if I were in her situation (if someone treats me poorly, I would leave).

She got angry at me, and told me that I was trying to isolate her from her friends, and that I don't know the meaning of relationships and basically even if people treat you like crap you should stay otherwise you're disloyal.

What would you do if you were in my position?

she seems to have a rather twisted view of what relationships are with the “if people treat you like crap you should stay if not ur disloyal”

she has no right to be mad at you when you’re genuinely trying to help her, and the fact she insults you as well.

I’m not sure what your friendship dynamic is but if you truly like your friend, maybe talk to them about this (when they’re not complaining about stuff)

If I were you I would probably distance myself from them/ not be as emotional invested if I were to give advice and then just to be insulted

Sounds like you gave her good advice. If she doesn't want to take it nothing you can do about it. Sounds like she likes self punishment 🤔

She sounds very toxic, but Id stop helping her with any issues she might have.
