Do you feel your festival celebrations are the same as they were when you were young?

My mom says, they had only 3 to 4 dresses, even when they were extremely well off. Dresses were purchased for the whole family only on major festivals like Diwali.

But when I look at myself. I just don't get the same feeling my mom must have felt in festivals. The festivals just fon't hold that much importance anymore, I think.

I purchase anything whenever I want. Hence, she says, that I feel every day, the same, even in festivals.

Hence, at least for me, the festivals, apart from the traditional things, more or less remain the same.

Absolutly not. How I feel about Easter, Christmas, and secular holidays now is very much different from when I was a kid. E. g., as a child, Memorial Day was a day for a cookout; now it is a time for reflection on all of those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms.

Now, I am much more reverent about these holidays.

I do not... I was never looking over my shoulder at the Greek Fest, Turkey Fest, Redneck Pig and Ribs Fest, Food Truck Festivals etc...

The spark of holidays has worn off me as well, especially Christmas cause it's the same songs and movies every year. Decor will always be pretty though.

I've never took part at any festival from my country or from the country where I live, so I can't say that I relate to it.

But it must be a sad feeling.
