A genuine platonic relationship is very rare to achieve. So in general, no. Men and women CANNOT be friends. Because more often than not, there is one who wants to be more than friends. The only reason they are "friends" is because they are holding onto hope that the other person would eventually 'come around'. We call this 'orbiting'. I made a Take about this topic in detail:

Elaborating further: I usually stay away from the woke-types on the (radical) left. They bring nothing but drama because their mind revolves around seeking problems where there aren't. But it seems like this girl does have some brains left when she talks against allowing kids to transition, de-stigmatizing pedophilia and when she talked against race-swapping existing characters.

I would have interesting conversations with her, but as I previously made clear, actual friendship? Nope.

She seems intelligent, which I value a lot. If she also shared my hobbies, then yeah.

Thats not to say I'd be unfriendly because she doesn't share my hobbies, more that those are the things I enjoy spending time doing, so I gravitate toward those who do them as well, and spend most (or all) of my time socializing with those types if people.
