Was I in the wrong to eavesdrop my boyfriend's private conversation with his mother?

I tend to be nosey whenever it's a private conversation. It was actually a good and serious conversation he was having with his mother.

The bad news is I already know his Merry Christmas surprise present. He has it hidden in his workplace locker. I'm trying to play dumb but I think my boyfriend caught me giggling several times. He did asked ''What's so funny... and I just replied I have a weird sense of humor and just like laughing by myself at times''.

That's the only thing I can't help it... being nosey and overheard private convsersations. Or if I were to find someone's secret diary or book, I'll be the first one to read it, lol. I wish I didn't know but oh well. Was it wrong still?

I'm trying to play dumb and not ruin it for him but I'm too happy that I can't help with my emotions.

Well, I'm glad you are self-aware and realize how much of a negative trait eavesdropping is. Past is past, but do not repeat this again. Seriously. You need to stop eavesdropping onto other people's private conversations especially when it does not concern you at all. Try therapy and yes, you were wrong.

However, on the bright side, you can be prepared when he pops the question. Make sure he does not know that you know. Good luck, and congratulations!

Nope. There are things to joke about (ex: a little fuzzy spider near you or putting the wrongs shoes; those types of jokes that doesn't hurt anyone and the person is laughing with you) and things not to joke about. I don't joke about serious things.
