if the person wanted to be in your life and cared about you they would be. That saying that’s going around makes me think. I broke up with a guy. We both ended it. I’ve even ended some friendships with girls that were friends. I miss some of them and care about these people. I wish some were in my life still. So does that quote in my question hold meaning or not. Maybe the ex boyfriend and the ex friends still want to be together.

I think if you want someone make it clear and if you don’t want someone you don’t need to be clear simply let it go in silence and if they want you they will try to reach out at you easily ,, since you didn’t cut them off forever,

Yeah, I think you assessment is smart and right on point. The reality is... if they want to be with you then they would. If they are not but saying this then they are simply trying to get in your head. People use this as a means to control others and it is terribly cruel to do this.

I do believe in going by people's actions rather than their words generally.

If they have access to you but they choose to spend their time elsewhere, it's probably a good indicator that they aren't that into you and you might be better off to find somebody who is.
