What's the best way to deal with a guy friend who has suddenly stopped speaking to you?

We have been friends for two years. All of a sudden, out of the blue, he has given me the silent treatment. I have asked him if he's ok, but he just said in a very cold tone of voice that he's busy.

He just ignores me now, so I don't bother messaging him anymore.

I miss our friendship. But obviously he didn't view my friendship the same way I viewed his, because he couldn't just cut me off like that if he did 😕

I'm experiencing the same thing with an online guy friend -- in my case we are just friends, it's not a romance. In my case the silent treatment isn't one-sided, but we both just stopped talking. I am not sure what to say to him. I am very sad about my situation :(

In your case, since it's one sided and he just doesn't want to talk, I suggest messaging him periodically (maybe once a week or once a month -- use your best judgement on frequency), just to see how he's doing.. you don't know exactly what's going on in his life.. perhaps he's going through a difficult period in his life that he's not comfortable sharing.. at least not right now anyway. Eventually he may want to open up.
