I've known her for a few years at church. She has invited me over her house before but I didn't take her up on it until now. Today I decided I would go over her house and spend time with her.
My dad who likes to try and control everything in my life was upset that I went over her house. He thinks it's super weird that I am friends with a woman in her 90s. He thinks she is trying to set me up with one of her grandsons and he doesn't trust any of them.
When I was over her house, we literally just talked about God the entire time. She has such a huge devotion and love to the Lord. She was basically giving me advice and telling me her life story. She seemed a bit lonely and she likes the company. She does have family and she's not alone, thankfully. But I just decided to go over her place and do something nice since she's been looking forward to me coming over/she thinks I am a nice girl and she really wanted me to come over.
After going over there, my dad was interrogating me. He's so disturbed by what I did. I withheld information because I knew he would start screaming at me about it. But she's a woman of color and my dad is extremely racist so if I told him that he would almost die of a heart attack.
She's a very nice lady. I don't see the harm in it.
Is it really that bad what I did? Is it that weird?
