If not even a guy's own mother talks good about him, it's a bad sign right?

My sister is on the verge of breaking up. It seems like a toxic relationship. There were several signs neither my parents, her close friends nor other family members like about that guy.

Also, they were dating for 2 years and only spoke with his mother recently last week. The mother described her child as lazy and the only one that doesn't give any grandchildren, (she has 3 other children, all 3 are married with kids and stable jobs) that has no priorities in life, nor goals, keeps having short-lived relationships and that she lent him $500 that he hasn't paid her back for a year.

So if even his own mother isn't talking great things about her child, it's obviously a bad sign right?

I'd be wary of phrasing your question as a generalized statement. But if what you said is true (no life goals, commitment/money issues), those sound like valid reasons why he'd had a strained relationship with his mother, and why she wouldn't say good things about him.

Not necessarily. I personally think the comment the mother made regarding her son not giving her grandchildren is pretty shitty. Like what happens if he can't have children because he has low sperm count.

I don't know. The grandchildren's comment makes me question the mother's credibility. Some people don't want kids and that's fine. And some people are unable to have kids.
