Let's be real, people often say how parents give unconditional love to their kids but going by the past couple of decades and especially the past couple of years when the COVID pandemic was happening, I was convinced that this whole concept of "unconditional love" is all bullshit. Even unconditional love from parents is all bullshit because they do have a limit towards their own kids without hardly ever being upfront about it. I've seen plenty of parents who are very quick to cut their own kids out of their life over petty drama and how quickly parents would throw their own kids into the wolves way too soon (as soon as they hit age 18) without any actual real-world preparation and not give a fuck about them once they finally reach adulthood.

The very harsh truth about the real world is that every single human being on this planet only cares about themselves/is self-serving and would kick the ladders down on others if that helps them get ahead in society. Even family members don't sincerely care about other family members and see their other family members as nothing more than nuisances to them.

Well, I don't think in any relationship pure unconditionality is possible. However, you can get fairly close there. My mother embodies it pretty well. She is very selfless and always very forgiving and caring. She is one of the most naturally loving people I have known.

So it varies from person to person. I don't quite share your wholly cynical analysis. I mean, relationships always ultimately break down as we evolve and shift and our perspectives change. It doesn't mean that they don't care for you, but rather, both your interests would be best served apart.

But yes, I take your point that a lot of parents and people in general are selfish and petty, especially when it comes to their children. Most want to thrust their own opinions and beliefs on them, rather finding out and supporting what the child, an individual, wants. How often do we see that with parents planning out their children's careers. They don't own their child, but they think they do.

That's the most frustrating thing to me about parents in general. Most of them birth their kids expecting their kids to live their lives solely for them only (Going to college or a work field only their parents want to do rather than what their own kids want).

When it comes to family, you know something called "sibling love", that is the harsh reality that many people are afraid to display in public. Many parents are just like siblings to their children, and many are even worse. "Hurt people hurt people," usually is the case.

But sometimes people who are hurt turn to self-harm, and have such a low self esteem that they place others above themselves. But then again it can burst out with negativity because being so selfless is unsustainable.

Completely Unconditional, is impossible, such as when they are harming you. If they want to chop off your penis and you just let them do it, is that unconditional love toward them?

Unconditional love means loving somone evan when there is no reason to do so. Its choosing to stay when you have no feelings for them anymore, when they get sick, when they have their episodes. That's real love. The west world doesn't understand that.

love has always been conditional especially for men. men are disposable to society and are only worthy of love if they bring some sort of value. the moment they lose that value, they lose that love too.

this is why people in society will sympathize more with attractive rich celebrities and their "problems" than unattractive homeless bums.
