I feel like when talking about wanting to have a baby people often forget that they're not babies forever. They're babies for approx one year!
We treat babies like puppies and kittens.

I can't believe how many times @Smashingdoozy has had to repeat the point of her question lol. Half the answers here are answering a different question or defensive for no reason.
I do think people need to think... Do you want to have a baby that we will raise into a good functioning person. So I agree with her point.
Clearly many people do think that through but I know people that didn't and have said they regret having kids. They love them but if they could do it over wouldn't. I hear this more than you'd think and I think it's because I don't have kids these friends feel safe to tell me because they feel awful about it, and feel other parents would judge them for feeling this way.
For me the question is if we want to have a child, not specifically a baby. I think that's the appropriate focus. They really depend on you a lot as children, but much less so as adolescents.
Even in dating I would ask if a woman has kids and if she does not she will usually add that she wants children, or not. It's never about babies really.
I can see where you're going with this, but @Apple1996 is right. It doesn't matter how old the kids are how succesful or tough they have become, how grown they are as a person. In the eyes of the parent, they're still that baby they care so much about.
Absolutely. That wasn't the point of the question though. Majority of people do not think having a baby through, they are blinded by the first few years of life where everything is cute and "easy".
Fully agree but our baby fever does not lol!
We also treat puppy's and kittens that way!
Omg so cute a week later I'm so tired I don't care

This one is a good question. I think people are only thinking about the cuteness of having a baby or a kid, and not the bigger picture of what they become. Raising a person is a lot more than taking care of a little baby.
Yes exactly!
Well, yes, you're right about that. Imagine them as 12-15 year olds if you're unsure about having kids.
Yes! Think about all the things you need to teach them to become respectful and responsible humans
Having a baby is bot like having a pet hamster. They are the biggest responsibility that there is. It is okay for people to not want t ohave that big responsibility but to have a baby because you think it will fulfill you or that it will save your marriage it is doing that child a great dis service.
A baby is a person... also parents still see their kids as babies even if they are adults. Doesn't mean they treat them like babies just means they still love them the same as when they were babies.
I'm talking about people who are thinking about having a baby. They're not thinking about raising a person they're thinking about how cute a baby is and not much further than that.
If a person's intending to have a baby they are also raising a person so both of these mean the same thing, unless you class a baby not as a person? lol.
I'm saying people don't think about raising a person when planning for a baby. They think about how cute a baby is
I guess realistically yea it's a long commitment and responsibility but everyone should know that but to be fair most people normally use make rather than have, "do you want to make a baby" which it's pretty accurate, the parents are the baby factory
I wanna have a full grown man actually.
I think you're very right. It's not the making of the baby that's the issue for most people, it's what happens later.
The decision to have a baby is many years long, bot just 9 months.
Never said it was?
That's why I voted Agree.
@Apple1996 took the words right out of my mouth. I couldn't have said it any better
Correct. But since people garner respect and fame for doing it, they look at it from that perspective.
Having a baby means raising a person...
A married couple who wants a bigger family would love to have babies...
Fr there's so many people who don't realize that for the minimum of next 18 years they are responsible for another human being
Do you want a 48 commitment
Leave at 18 come back at20 then never leave
Is more like it
Yes because with the baby comes responsibility an baby needs a father too.
Someday when the time is right.
How can you not comprehend a question
I want to have a baby someday with a beautiful and charming lady 😏
Cool. I didn't ask
been there none that
Semanrics.
Semantics.
I agree!
