I'm male, 20 years of age, My cousin who is 5 was touched by people who was living with her father at the time. She told the school and they didn't report it till 23 days later. When she was taken the people living with her father was not arrested but told not to go nowhere, There was 2 man living with him at the time, The Mother took sides of one man which was her brother and my father took the side for the other man which was his nephew almost the same age as him, almost in his 50s. The men was eventually arrested but isn't charged yet. I was mad at the school, my uncle and those men, I talked to my uncle and he was acting like nothing big happened it pissed me off. Everyone was acting like it wasn't a big deal. I went to my uncles house and he told me it wasn't a big deal I started yelling and fussing with him until the point of the cops were called and I was removed from his property. My family the ones I trusted is agreeing that it's not a big deal and saying I was over thinking about the father of her protecting to calmed rapist. I have not had connection with any of them for 2 weeks now. The only one I have connection with is the current caretaker of my cousin. So am I making it a bigger deal then it should be or are they just wrong?

No you’re in the right. I wish I had someone like you to stand up for me back when I was molested by a family member, instead, I just got brushed off (similar to what your family is doing right now, they’re in denial and is protecting a pedo). I hope your cousin has a support system that will stick by his/her side to help him/her heal.
