My sisters get mad at me for talking too much and maybe saying things I shouldn't... OK, guilty but they are the same... lol

Tell us how you respond to TMI that you weren't expecting in a conversation or maybe if you are the one that tends to say too much sometimes.

Yes, I hate it when someone I don't know well tells me too much about themselves or someone else

Yes, I hate it when even close friends give me too much very 'Personal' information about themselves or others

I cut anyone off in their tracks when they start gossiping or telling me too much about themselves or others

Hearing secrets about others gives me permission to share my TMI with them. These are the most stimulating conversations to me

I actually try to get others to open up and give me some TMI, I love it!

there's a lot of truth to that... sometimes telling someone too much may not be a good idea at all... what if i go on a date and say oh i gave 150 men blowjobs... how would that sound for appeal>

Depends on who the person is. If it is a family member, friend or girlfriend I will listen to a degree but if I feel it is too much or is something I can't help them with I will coax them into a soft landing an try to change the subject.

Now if it is a stranger or one of my buddies saying something raunchy or going off the board I will probably react in a way to diffuse the TMI, but show I am still open to conversations.

Example. I might raise an eyebrow and cock my head and change my tone to indicate heavy sarcasm. "Who the fuck starts a conversation like that? Bro, I just sat down. Too early for that, man."

My experience has been that girls in college tended to like to hear from me, things that were intimate or erotic, but were hesitant to discuss things they had done or wanted to do. Maybe not true for all but one example I can think of TMI and sharing it with a relative stranger or just a casual acquaintance.

Personally I like to hear everything that a woman will tell me about her sex life or her fantasies, and some have, and I am willing to do the same if she is forthcoming with me.

In short, too much Gossip is not at all OK.

If they're sharing TMI just about themselves and good things or sad part of their family that means they trust you so much, you are one special person in their life.

Between friend TMI can be a bit much sometimes but in a relationship it's OK as there should be no secrets. We have no secrets from each other and it has been working fine. We know everything about each other.
