Has someone ever made you question/realise something about yourself that you thought was normal?

So me and a colleague got onto a topic of stupid mishaps, in this case it was when you misplace things. He was talking about his girlfriend and how they spent two hours searching for her phone when it was in her jacket pocket that she was wearing.

So I told him about me "losing" my hoover, I said I have a designated place to put it in my cupboard. I checked and it wasn't there checked the living room and kitchen then went upstairs to check the bedrooms. Went back downstairs to check the cupboard, then the living room and kitchen again before checking the cupboard one last time. And it was there in my designated place the whole time, not hidden under coats or anything just as clear as day.

He mentioned I can tell you lose a lot of things, I said what on earth gave you that impression (as a jokey way of course I know I'm scatter brained as hell). He replied, by the fact you have designated places for everything.

I never realised that's not a normal thing, one good thing is that work has got me a laptop with my work number on it, so the next time I lose my phone I can call myself on the laptop. And yes I have a key pot at home too.
