Why do babies and animals like me so much while grown up humans tend to avoid me?

So, I have always been a favourite among babies since childhood. When I was younger people used to say that they like me because they find me to be a kid like them. But as I approached my early twenties, I realised that this experience is a constant. Be it a crowded public vehicle or a room full of young people - babies and toddlers come running to me while grown ups tend to distance from me. A few days ago I was in a queue while a little girl (she goes to play school) from her father's lap tried her best to touch my face and talk to me. She was so ardent, her parents and everyone around started laughing. The same happened in a bus while I was standing and found out someone is pulling my cloth. When I looked down I saw a baby sitting at the seat on their mother's lap and they broke into laughter when our eyes met. I have also seen stranger babies in public leaning on me or holding my hand and sleeping comfortably. I have travelled with friends of my age but it doesn't happen to them.

I also tend to attract cats, dogs and birds. Dogs walk with me, cats stare and meow at me and birds come down to my garden to drink water or eat when I'm sitting right there. The weird bit is, adult humans say that I'm way too unapproachable, I look cold and reserved. My experience in life has made me habituated to always greet babies smiling and animals by talking to them.

What can be the reasons that adult humans avoid me but babies and animals are fond of me?
