I've seen a bunch of tiktok videos lately of people, mainly women, lamenting that their male best friend caught feelings and their friendship ended as a result. Before I met my wife I definitely crushed on a few of my friends, and even asked a few out, and while none of those lead to anything romantic, I'm still good friends with most of them, so the comments by so many people saying they lost friends this way surprised me.

nope, I don't crush on people... the only time I had a crush was in middle-school, and I was 12 to 14 of age, lol

even then, I saw her just as a friend and did behave like a friend, because that's all it was

later in life, I am more consistent with my feelings and actions, either we are friends and we are like friends to each other... or they are my girlfriends and we're in love with each other

if I feel like I have a very strong interest and like for someone, then I do not call them my friends because I am not being a friend to them... and if they're not interested in me in the same way then I don't see any reason to pretend to be a friend to them, when I am not being that, lol

Crushes are for teenagers. I don't let myself get that obsessed with someone I have just met, it is not healthy.
