So to start I'm just trying to get some advice on why my best friend might be acting this way since New years Eve.
We were planning to hang out and ring in the New Year together. We hadn't planned a set time for me to come over but it was just gonna be her and her husband, me and my fiance. Earlier that day another friend called my fiance and asked us to come by around 5 for a birthday thing they were having. My fiance wanted to swing by there first. I agreed it would be cool to celebrate with them and then head to my besties shortly after around 6. So I immediately let her know we would be swinging by another get together first so she wouldn't start cooking too early.
Her immediate response was a sad face. I asked what the issue was since we'd be there around 6 and spend the rest of the evening there ringing in the New Year together. She got defensive and weird and her whole demeanor changed and she was just like "ok keep us updated". She's usually very expressive with usage of emojis and exclamations in her messages but the quick response she sent back let me know she was upset.
For back story she always gets upset when I hang with other friends... she'll make comments like oh are you trying to replace me. And stuff like that. I thought it was just her being silly and joking but later that evening as we were about to leave the other friends party she messaged saying she's not feeling well and doesn't wanna do anything... it was like 6 pm. So I said ok hope you feel better happy new year! She left me on read (which she never does) and haven't messaged me since. I've tagged her in some things on FB and messaged her only to get a quick response.
I'm just needing advice here and I'd like to know if what I did was so wrong? I mean we were gonna spend the rest of the evening there and she shut it down and now is acting weird. Also, she hung out with other friends several times last week. I never joke and say she's gonna replace me. TIA for any advice!
