Friends and I were talking last night and I realized, in 25yrs of being on this earth, I’ve never left my state! I do live in CA, and have been to every nook and cranny of it, but I’ve never left it! I’m the only person I know that has never been out of state. I’m hoping there’ll be at least one person on here that hasn’t. 😃 Yes, I am actually embarrassed by it.
Don't be embarrassed. But if you have the money, take a trip abroad. If you are a bit skittish you can first do a different neighbouring state or go up to Vancouver or something.
In Europe it's the norm to visit different countries. I think I've been to most of Europe before the age of 18. But the most fun are different cultures. Like Japan, Southeast Asia, countries in Africa and for me as an European even the USA (loved the old south and California). I think I've visited over 40 countries already and always looking for more.
I think we should feel lucky with our vacation days. I can leave the office for a month and still have days left for short trips, family things or whatever.

I have wanted to leave this miserable state my whole life. The winters are way too long and the taxes are high. Too much traffic too. My wife has a very close family which is the opposite of me. She never wanted to move. Twenty years ago I had an opportunity to work for NASA in Florida and to me it was a no brainer but she did not want to leave. Now my kids all have jobs here and so it looks like I might die here.
I didn’t leave Florida until I was 16, even then, we only went to N Carolina. Like you, Florida is a vacation destination, so we pretty much vacationed in state. After all, both our states have Disney, so that was often our destination. I hope to go to CA someday and NYC.
To the contrary, I've actually visited all the 50 states... the exact opposite!

All of 'em but Alaska. Planning that in 2025.
Consider taking a bus trip; they're usually pretty reasonable.
wow you've never traveled? that's crazy
California is beautiful, but has some of the most fucked up politics, laws (especially gun laws)
I've lived in three different states and visited about half of our 50 states.I was born and raised in Southern California near the ocean. I moved to the western Sierra Nevada foothills in Northern California with my wife when I was 46 and we still live there.
But I have traveled all over California and much of the U. S., as well as Mexico and Europe.
My wife was originally from Cincinnati but moved to California in the early 80s. That's where we met.I can understand what you’re saying. CA is a huge state and has a lot to offer. Sometimes people never even realize all that their state has to offer.
I have left my home state several times, and now live in another state in Southeast US.
You are not alone. I work with a few people who have never left their home state.
No dice, I've been to about 30 states (as well as countries).
I have starting at an early age.
I was lucky, we traveled a lot.
I've been to all lower 48 states, Canada and Mexico on a motorcycle, and in other travels, rented a motorcycle in Hawaii, been to Alaska a couple times as well as many foreign country.
But I am still amazed at the number of people that have never ventured out of the state.Nothing to really be embarrassed of. But you really have never seen America. lol. Many will say when you get out of California welcome to America.
I live in Missouri and I’ve been out of the state plenty of times. Kansas. Arkansas. Florida. Among others. I’ve never been outside the US though
It is probably more likely in big states like California, Texas, and Alaska. Or remote states like Alaska and Hawaii.
I have left mine but definitely not a lot, I'm sure you are not alone.
That’d be sad. I leave Texas constantly or I’d kill my self. I leave the US constantly.
i bet it isn't many, even by 1 year old i had left massachusetts
What I like about CA is that if you are in the right place then you are about an hour away from the coast or the mountains depending on the direction you go.
You could have asked this as a poll. Now everyone who has left their state can't answer the question. IMHO.
wow. No, I leave my state regularly. But I do live 2 miles from the border.
I'm from Pakistan. and I never been out of Pakistan 🥺🥺🥺
