Recently one of my closest friends said they wanted to take a break from being friends but we can rekindle our friendship in the future. I am unsure how I feel about this. I feel sad. Do I even want to be friends with them in the future if they do not want to be friends now? I know I am overthinking this.
They said they are very busy and simply do not have time for a close friendship. I feel like there is a difference between saying sorry I have been busy lately and have not had time for you and sorry I have been busy so lets not be friends. I feel unwanted and taken for granted.
Here is what the text message she sent me says " I know I have been busy and not able to meet you but I just want you to know that I have a lot on my plate rn and prioritizing our friendship has been difficult I think we should take a break as friends and reconnect as friends at a more suitable time."
