Almost every family has their own small unique traditions. Can you recall any family tradition from yours that you really liked?

My aunt was a nun who was born in the 30's. Back then, nuns didn't get the same luxeries they get now.
So when the church started giving the new nuns things like vacations etc. They decided that as a way of not making the old ones feel left out, they bought them a beach house.
We used to go there every year and all my cousins would come. The older ones used to sit on the porch and knock back 30 packs while playing poker, my cousin and I used to go to the jersey shore house and watch snookie walk out. Their house was only 4 or 5 blocks away.
We used to rent jet skis and one of my cousins was a Nintendo nerd so we'd play on his GameCube or wii every night after the beech or the Boardwalk.
Those were good days
We have a family tradition that came about as a result of my wife trying to say comparison and getting it wrong and instead saying comperasian which when I first heard it thought it sounded like a celebration phrase so we made it a celebration phrase and have turned it into a little family holiday. The little ones still don't get it but the wife and I do and they will. She was quite embarrassed when it happened and I have no doubt when she sees I shared it she will be mortified and swat me at least once 🤣🤣. Love you baby!!
My dad established "motorsports week" decades ago for our family.
We'd all race cars, motorcycles, boats, etc. altogether against each other and against others for an entire weekend or more.
It used to be monthly but decreased to quarterly because my brothers & I all grew up, moved out & got married.
Golfing is also special since my mom can join in on that as well.
That's another quarterly event we all look forward to.
Everytime it would rain and we couldn't go outside and play, Mom would make us some homemade chocolate fudge she would cook on the stove.
My sister and I used to argue over who got to lick the spoon after it was all done, and which one of us got to scrape the fudge from the pan she cooked it in.
She always left some on the spoon and some in the pan.
Good memories ❤️

i don't have any, sorry to say.
We don’t have family traditions really. More like traditions we do amongst each other. Like driving down to the USA every Labour Day weekend with my siblings. Or binge watching supernatural with my mom once a year so we can watch the people we dislike on the show die again and again.
On Christmas Eve, we break oplatki wafers with each other and wish everyone things like good health, success in the coming year, and so forth. It's a Polish tradition.
On Easter, my dad and I make a frittata. Here’s a MyTake I wrote about it last year
Going on vacation together or big Sunday Italian feasts
Very small family here, just my mom and I. We spend birthdays, Christmas and Mother’s day together, and play board/card games and watch movies or TV shows on DVD almost nightly. I’m fortunate to have such a great mom and I’m determined to not take her for granted. Besides, it’s just us; it’s not like Christmas at the Griswold house.
We do the traditional Italian Feast of The 7 Fishes on Christmas Eve. My grandmother did it when I was little. After she died my aunt took over the duties. She passed away a few years ago so my wife decided it was such a cool tradition that she wanted to continue it I have been doing it for over 50 years.
We did battle when I was a boy. Last one left standing wins. Not too violent. We had rules against being so violent, but just pushing. Open hands, no fists.
Like if we did together, I can use open hand to slam you to the ground or you to me from face to chest, or we can pull our legs back if we dive. But once our body is on the ground, we are disqualified. So mostly we aim to push each other down with open hand from upper chest/neck to face. You get slammed.
Little bit like sumo like so (my fave sumo wrestler):

We do same way in open field with lots of kids. I actually won many times. I slammed the ones left remaining with open palm.
For family events, we didn't do 1vs1. We did free for all. Last one left standing wins. So you defeat all your cousins from blood through blood. Then you prove yourself to your family as one fit to be next leader, but also second best (subordinate), and so forth.
We call it “Schnifflewiffle” and we overfill people’s mail boxes with eggs so that when they open the mail box a bunch of eggs fall out and smash on the ground!!! 😂😂😂😂 but as a “sorry” there is still usually a bunch of unbroken eggs they can use for breakfast
It is a lot of fun and highly recommend it
I have no close living relatives (only child of two only children), but I have "Friend Family" traditions. All of my friends spend New Years at my house, and they and their families usually have Thanksgiving here as well.
I really like the idea of family traditions , and I am youngest of 5 , but youngest by a long way , sadly we are not incredibly tight and are scattered all. over the place..
So there really are no traditions to mention.
Fighting because we never get along🤗 How fun🤗
weekend gatherings with the extended families...
the food was endlessly great...
If it had never come with anger about putting up a Christmas tree, it would have been lighting the menorah during Hannukah.
my son and I have gone to a Houston Astros game every year since he was 5 in 2011, and for the past several years, we have gone to at least one other MLB park. We're up to 13 now and will check off #14 this summer in Seattle.
Eating dinner together.
eating batter from moms cake bowl was happinwaa as well.
Probably a party every Christmas Eve and a visit to see friends every New Year’s Day.
Christmas, Easter, New Year's, Holidays and Season's, those family gatherings 😊😋😛
All nowadays and for many many years mutually as a family and extended family all non-religious in nature, ✌🏻😃
I don't agree with too many family traditions like this.
Everything and watching, and going to Miami dolphin 🐬 games
Taco and comedy-movie nights. Whenever we all are free and/or feel like it.
Thanksgiving has always been tops! Family, turkey, gravy, football, and a great shit after :)
We have tea snd biscuits every day at night time we gather to chat and drink tea together
Cooking Asian food with my mom.
