What bad advice have you be given that you hadn't realized until later in life?

I've always said for years, the best decision is always the one you make yourself. Everytime I've taken someone else's advice it always came back to bite me later on and sometimes I'll try something that someone told me years later.

Get married and have kids otherwise you’ll be miserable and incomplete in your life is what I’ve been told by some family friends and an aunt. That’s actually horrible advice I see that now that I’m older.

marriage and having kids is a good thing for sure but you definitely don’t need those things to be fulfilled and complete on your life.

there’s so many people who are happy and thriving as single people with no kids. Life is actually about figuring out what you want and then following that want of yours that’s one way of finding happiness and fulfilment.

it’s kinda sad to see that single people with no kids still get called things like spinster or failures in life. I would have thought people would have been a lot more wiser and open minded in this modern day and age but I guess not 💔
